VARIOUS BRAVE WAVE ALBUMS
HEART BEAT CIRCUIT by Smoke Thief
"Heart Beat Circuit is a concept album about a futuristic female android who achieves sentience. Smoke Thief experiments with a variety of musical styles to explore Krystal's world and experiences, mixing genres from ambient to jazz, and fusing electronic elements with instruments such as saxophone. Contributions come from renowned video game composers Manami Matsumae (Mega Man), Saori Kobayashi (Panzer Dragoon Saga), and Takahiro Izutani (Bayonetta)." |
Responsibilities
I acted as Mixing Engineer and Co-Producer on Heart Beat Circuit, using a similar style of "Destructive Mixing" which would later be expanded on the Retro-Active albums. I composed and arranged on two of the album's tracks. Additionally I helped with developing some of the themes, naming the album, and A&R related tasks. |
IN FLUX
"IN FLUX is an East-meets-West concept music album bringing together the musicians of Evanescence, Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Silent Hill, Panzer Dragoon, Sworcery, Spelunky & more. IN FLUX features Tim McCord's first appearance after finishing work on Evanescence's 3rd album in 2011, collaborating with Mega Man's Manami Matsumae." |
Responsibilities
I mixed five of the album's tracks, one of them a collaboration between Evanescence's Tim McCord and Mega Man's Manami Matsumae. I also contributed a solo track (Diamond) under the Monomirror alias. |
TERRA MAGICA by Saori Kobayashi
"Terra Magica is a love letter from Saori Kobayashi to her fans. Featuring the same rich, melodic textures that defined the iconic soundtracks of Panzer Dragoon Saga and Panzer Dragoon Orta. Joining Kobayashi are Eri Ito, vocalist from Panzer Dragoon Saga and Panzer Dragoon Orta, as well as Kobayashi's AKANE band mate Yumiko Takahashi." |
Responsibilities
I mixed Michiru Yamane's (Castlevania series) remix of "Mother" and acted as Technical Supervisor. I also named the album. |
WORLD 1-2 / WORLD 1-2: Encore
"World 1-2 and World 1-2: Encore are a celebration of our love of the art and craft of videogames. They include both original music and videogame remixes. Featured musicians include Video Game Orchestra, Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill), Manami Matsumae (Mega Man), Keiji Yamagishi (Ninja Gaiden), Austin Wintory (Journey), Eirik Suhrke (Spelunky), Ben Prunty (FTL), Metroid Metal, Stemage, Danimal Cannon, Monomirror — and many more." |
Responsibilities
I joined Brave Wave during the planning phase of the World 1-2 albums. I acted as a Technical Advisor and Mastering Liaison, bringing Dan Suter from echochamber into the fold. I mixed two tracks on the albums and contributed with my own solo track (Descent) under the alias Monomirror. |
Other albums
On most of Brave Wave's album I've acted as Technical Supervisor, with duties typically involving Mastering Liaison/Mastering Assistant, Mixing Advisor and the handling of other technical aspects, sometimes also involving audio editing, clean-up or similar. This was on top of my duties as Assistant Director.
